Aquatalia is a luxury footwear brand with styles crafted in Italy. The brand sells goods in retail outlets across the country and online via their Shopify ecommerce store.


The Aquatalia brand team approached Sunrise Integration to provide development work for international order support on their Shopify store. Sunrise Integration's ecommerce experience  and partnership with Pitney Bowes' Borderfree service made this a perfect fit.

The Challenge


Aquatalia was looking for a viable international delivery solution for their existing Shopify store. They wanted to handle multiple currencies and local payment sources for each country. The team decided to utilize the Pitney Bowes' Borderfree platform and needed an experienced partner to handle the project.


Sunrise Integration is a development partner for Pitney Bowes so a custom integration with Borderfree was slated for development.


The Solution


The Sunrise Integration API development team rolled out a custom solution for Aquatalia. The integration supported the Borderfree shipping platform. Sunrise Integration is a longtime development partner with Pitney Bowes so the Borderfree integration was able to make use of the Global OMS (GOMS) Shopify App developed by Sunrise Integration. The GOMS application pulls successful orders from the Borderfree system and synchronizes the data with Shopify. The order and tracking details are exchanged to ensure both platforms are up-to-date.


The Global OMS service automatically synchronizes order imports, product feed creation and shipment tracking notification between Shopify and Pitney Bowes and Borderfree. It is a scalable, end-to-end global ecommerce system that handles international enterprise retail. With it, Pitney Bowes and Borderfree are able to localize their domestic website for international consumers (currency and exchange rates, languages, country, prices), integrate cross border logistics, automatic synchronization and provide global customer service. With the Global OMS app, Aquatalia was able to:


  • Synchronize orders with Pitney Bowes

  • Real time order tracking

  • Automated product feeds

  • Tracking and logs for every step of the process

  • Sync tracking details for every order


The Outcome


After completing the integration project, Aquatalia was also able to expand their ecommerce reach and accept international shipments using Borderfree. The site can take orders from a wide array of countries and currencies with customs and international delivery operating in over 220 countries and territories around the world.
