SimpleSENCE manufactures Wi-fi enabled sensors that allow homeowners and business owners to detect water leaks on their property, an issue that can potentially cause devastating financial and emotional damage. With an innovative solution to a common problem on their hands, SimpleSENCE’s team knew that they could garner massive interest from their target market.


When SimpleSENCE first approached Sunrise Integration to grow their internet-of-things (IoT) product business from the bottom up, they were in the earliest stages of go-to-market strategy. Our team took on the role of strategic technology partner and advisor to help them go from a small startup to an established company with products selling in a variety of retailers, including big box stores.

The Challenge

Building their Own Store on Shopify


From the beginning, SimpleSENCE didn’t have an online store on which they could sell their wireless sensors. They were selling on Amazon but wanted to have more control over their online presence and reach more customers. After assessing their needs, it was clear that Shopify would be the best platform to achieve their business goals.


To simplify their workflows and make running their business easier, they also needed a solution with which they could coordinate all sales on Amazon with their new Shopify store and their warehouse. This would consist of connecting and integrating all the pieces of their business (both B2B and B2C) together, including their ERP, email, warehouse and more.

Following comprehensive strategic roadmapping workshops, we collaborated to set up and design their Shopify store, connect existing software and integrate their Amazon, Shopify and warehouse. Leveraging the success of their direct-to-consumer operation, the SimpleSENCE team was able to secure deals with big box chain stores to sell their product including Home Depot and Lowes and are positioned for massive growth well into the future.
